The Icelandic horse is a 1000 year old riding horse!
It is for different “work”, for free time and for sport!
It is for people and children.
In Iceland they have not have streets,. All what they like to have and move must be on the horse!
They have not a wagon! The way to the next Neighbour is far (mostly more than 3 km)
The next shop is around 60km and the next city can be longer!
So they have look that they have good riding horses.
All not good horses they have eat! And they still do it!
A Iceland horse stop to grow with around 7 years.
So we begin to train them to ride with 5 years or later!
But you can use them to ride up to 30 / 35 years.
They need not a closed stable!
The best is pasture! And a open stable!
They need a open stable more in the summer time than in the winter time!
A Icelandic horse can be over 65km in pace!
In canter a horse is around 27 km fast.
The Icelandic horse is the once horse with a own world cup!
